Culinary Team Ontario is on its way to Luxembourg to represent Canada in the Villeroy & Boch Culinary World 2018, coming this November.
This is a very prestigious culinary competition held once every four years that brings together more than 80 countries and over 2,000 chefs and confectioners competing in individual and team challenges.
During the five-day event, these chefs from around the world present some of the most striking and delicious food to be found, and the meticulous judging is done by 55 Grand Chefs from the highest calibre international jury.
The Ontario team is made up of five chefs including team manager Tony Fernandes, executive chef and food and beverage director for the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport Hotel. To date, chef Tony and his teams of chefs have won more than 45 medals from culinary competitions worldwide and this will be Fernandes’ third Culinary World Cup.
The team recently had a special fundraising dinner at the Crowne Plaza featuring special four-course meal created by members of Culinary Team Ontario, with a portion of the monies raised going towards the local charity, Engage and Change to assist the homeless.
